The Rhizoflora acquisition reflects our broader strategy to build the most comprehensive portfolio of products and solutions to serve the industry at an unparalleled scale,” said Chris Hagedorn, division president of Hawthorne. “We appreciate our long-standing partnership with Rhizoflora and look forward to further elevating the Rhizoflora brands, including bringing Terpinator and Purpinator to expanded markets.”

Acquiring the Terpinator and Purpinator brands will extend the Hawthorne Signature Nutrients portfolio into supplements that are being rapidly adopted as the industry standard to fully express plant characteristics. Hawthorne will increase marketing and sales efforts around these brands, which will further support the Hawthorne 360 Total Solution for growers.

Rhizoflora, located in Santa Rosa, Calif., produces the terpene-oriented fertilizer additive Terpinator, as well as Purpinator, another specialty nutrient additive. Meanwhile, the acquisition of Hydro-Logic, based in Santa Cruz, Calif., is tracking to an August 27 closing.
