DENVER – Mary’s Medicinals (Mary’s), best known as the developer of the first transdermal cannabis patch, today revealed a refined set of branding including a new logo, tagline, brand mission and product packaging. The rebrand was spearheaded by New York-based agency Studio7 and Detroit-based Standout Solutions. Starting July 2 in Colorado, consumers will see Mary’s new product packaging hit dispensary shelves. Additional states will roll out the new look over the course of the next two months.
“We’re excited to share with you what we’ve been working on the past six months…With five years under our belts and the new packaging regulations in Colorado, we took this opportunity to refine and refresh the Mary’s Medicinals brand to bring it into 2018 and beyond,” said Lynn Honderd, CEO of Mary’s. “For us, it’s still simply black and white, and we hope you love our new look as much we do.”
On April 20, 2013, Mary’s was founded on a set key pillars and these pillars are still at the heart of everything the company does to this day: clinical grade and clean delivery, accurate dosing, convenient and discreet use, and a patient-first mentality.
The new brand identity reflects the key pillars as well as Mary’s commitment to providing novel, premium cannabis-infused products for relief for patients and consumers from 2-92 years old in states where medical and/or adult-use has been legalized. The company’s refined brand mission statement directly speaks to this notion: “We aim to advance the global understanding, acceptance, and adoption of cannabis and other plant-based medicines.”
The new tagline “Contrary to Popular Relief” illustrates Mary’s efforts to change perception and acceptance of cannabis-based medicine, as well as Mary’s tone of voice which is smart, sophisticated, clever and sometimes unexpected.
“During the rebrand process, one of the most interesting aspects of our brand that we uncovered was the definition of the Mary’s customer,” said Honderd. “Mary is everyone. Mary is not one singular person. Mary is that part inside of us that strives to live a better quality of life.”
The company’s new website will go live in mid-August. For a more in-depth view of the new Mary’s branding, please send a request to [email protected].
