NEW YORK — LeafLink, the cannabis industry’s wholesale marketplace, announced that $1 billion in annualized orders now moves through its online business-to-business platform. Reaching the billion-dollar benchmark means that LeafLink processes an estimated 16% of all wholesale cannabis orders in the U.S.
Launched in 2016, LeafLink enables wholesale purchasing between cannabis brands and retailers. Retailers use LeafLink to shop multiple brands in one cart, manage their wholesale inventory, view up-to-date product and brand menus, review historical and open orders, discover new products, and request samples. LeafLink further serves vendors by offering supplementary tools such as order management, customer relationship management (CRM) tool, inventory tracking and customized reporting systems, among other services.
Over the past three years, LeafLink has grown its network to connect more than 1,000 cannabis brands to over 3,000 cannabis retailers across 20 territories in the U.S. and Canada. In most of their markets, four out of five cannabis retailers order inventory through LeafLink.
“Reaching the first billion-dollar mark is an important moment for the entire LeafLink team to reflect on and celebrate. It’s taken passion, execution and a relentless focus on our customers to bring us to this moment,” said Ryan G. Smith, Co-Founder and CEO. “What excites me most is that this is truly just the beginning for the LeafLink community, our team and the industry as a whole.”
This milestone comes three months after LeafLink and Canopy Rivers announced their joint venture, LeafLink International, whose goal is to expand LeafLink’s industry-standard technology to global cannabis markets, starting with Canada.
