The Emerald Cup, Northern California’s premiere cannabis competition, crowns the jewels in over a dozen cannabis categories. A win can be a game-changer for farmers and producers. This year’s Cup was held over the weekend at the Sonoma County fairgrounds (a far cry from its humble family farm beginnings over 10 years ago when it debuted on the down-low in Humboldt County). A record turnout of over 30,000 farmers, industry folk and consumers celebrated the first Emerald Cup since the passage of Prop. 64, and the optimism (and flower) in the air was tangible. Over 1200 entries were submitted to compete for the coveted awards. Best flower went to The Dookie Brothers, Jason and Greg (pictured below), and their sweet, tropical-fruit flavored and appropriately named Zkittles strain. Other big winners included
Whoopi & Maya, Legion of Bloom and 3rd Gen/Terp Hogz/Dying Breed. Check out all of the pics from the parties, the performances, the expo, the awards and more..
