If you are a cannabis patient in Arizona and you like Bhang bars, time could be running out for you.

Bhang, makers of cannabis infused products, including their well-known chocolate bars, will soon be ceasing operations in Arizona. Bhang is very popular among marijuana consumers and has received multiple awards including a 1st place finish in the 2015 Socal Cannabis Cup.

Bhang products in Arizona are produced at Harvest of Arizona, a state-sanctioned dispensary. Harvest of Arizona also distributes Bhang products to other dispensaries but has recently opted out of their agreement with the edible maker.

Currently, there are no new Bhang products being made in Arizona. While the chocolate bars may still be on some shelves, it seems Bhang products are increasingly becoming scarce.

Bhang has operations in several states. Unfortunately, it is not simply a matter of shifting supply. Since cannabis is illegal on a federal level, it cannot be shipped across state lines. In order to return to the Arizona market, Bhang will have to find a new suitable maker.

When asked if Bhang plans on returning to Arizona, Jamie L. Pearson, Director of Operations, said “absolutely.”

Pearson seems optimistic about the time frame for Bhang products finding their way back onto shelves in Arizona.

“We are hoping to have a solution that will have product on shelves by years’ end,” she told mg.
