Before joining the cannabis industry a few years ago, Liz “The Mistress,” “Creative Sorceress,” Rudner was a creative design professional working as a Visual Creative Director with a focus on digital brand engagement with start-ups in the Bay Area. She also spent time building and curating brands within the hospitality industry. She was ideally suited to launch a cannabis edible brand with a healthy twist.

MoonMan’s Mistress was launched in February of 2015 and has become an award-winning, artisanal, paleo edible company committed to gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and low-glycemic treats!

“MoonMan’s Mistress has grown 50% in the last year.”

Daily Duties
“MoonMan’s Mistress is a team of two full time people and is aided by our friends and family. With a business that’s getting off the ground, I’m focused on what it will take to move the business forward which breaks down like this: 90% marketing and sales, 40% production, 10% business operations…”

The Business Plan
“Our focus has always been around wellness, healing the body, and living a healthy lifestyle. The stigma is changing and the space is becoming open to new wellness brands. The idea that there is one kind of cannabis consumer is false; that’s why we’ve been able to find our place in the market. We’ve grown 50% since last year.”

“Always be curious. Be disruptive. Don’t follow the rules.”

“I begin and end each day taking a pause to be grateful that I’m one of the lucky ones that gets an opportunity to be an entrepreneur, work with cannabis everyday, and am a creator of a wellness brand that cares about people.”

First Time You Consumed Cannabis…
“I was 13 years old. I smoked a joint with a neighbor in the woods of North Carolina, fell off a log, and saw Elvis in the sky.”
