When it comes to his career in cannabis, Jerry Tut has done it all.

He’s been a part of the industry since 2008, whether it was working in cultivation facilities, dispensaries or manufacturing sites. “I’ve experience as much as anyone can experience,” noted Tut.

In fact, before joining Siva Enterprises, a full-service cannabis business development firm that provides consulting, turnkey management, venture opportunities, and brand acquisitions, in January of 2016, Tut was a renowned Director of Operations at a Prop D. Pre-ICO dispensary in Los Angeles, where he learned the ins-and-outs of the pharmacy business.

“I like to arrive [at work]15-20 minutes early to respond to all my emails. I’m usually out on the field most of the day auditing dispensaries and cultivation facilities under our umbrella so it is important to reply to my emails before my day has even began. The last thing I like to do is to make sure my To-Do List for that day has been completed and I begin to create another To-Do List for the following day.”

Duties
“Siva Enterprises is a multilayered cannabis business development firm. We provide licensing and consulting to entrepreneurs across the United States. We also offer turnkey management services, venture opportunities, and brand acquisitions. As COO, I am involved in all facets of the company; however, my main responsibility is Siva Management. I’m the guy you want to call if your dispensary unsuccessful and you’re only assisting 150-200 patients a day with low ticket values or if your cultivating facility isn’t optimal with low quality product and low yield values.”

The Business Plan
“Business is very good. We just completed license and application work for Pennsylvania and Ohio. Los Angeles is right around the corner; we’re getting multiple clients from the LA region.”

Doing Your Job Well Entails…
“Organization is key. Attention to detail is extremely important; you must be alert of even the smallest details. Finally, working hard and not procrastinating.”

Work Philosophy
“I ask all my employees to be passionate about what they do. I’ve learned that if an individual is truly passionate about their job they naturally give 200% effort.”

First/Last Thing You do at Work
“I usually like to arrive 15-20 minutes early to respond to all my emails. With Siva Management, I’m usually out on the field most of the day visiting and auditing dispensaries and cultivation facilities under our umbrella so it is important to reply to my emails before my day has even began. The last thing I like to do is to make sure my “To-Do List” for that day has been completed and I begin to create another “To-Do List” for the following day.”

Industry Trend
“Branding is huge right now. If a product isn’t branded and that brand isn’t known by the public then it isn’t going to be successful on your shelves.”

Hobbies
“I work six days a week and very long hours so when I have time off all I want to do is spend it with my family.”

“The best advice I’ve ever gotten was, Do not ever get too comfortable, it hinders success. A wise man once told me, ‘Jerry, you get busy growing otherwise you’re gonna get busy dying.”

Best Advice Received
“Do not ever get too comfortable, it hinders success. A wise man once told me, ‘Jerry, you get busy growing otherwise you’re gonna get busy dying.”

Your Advice…
“Be passionate about what you do and be a good leader.”

First time You Consumed Cannabis…
“During my senior year in high school, one of my friends was throwing a house party and he had bought some cannabis. He reached into his bag and pulled out some cannabis and a green apple. I remember looking at him like, What the heck am I suppose to do with this apple? I gave it one try and I remember coughing non-stop, but after my cough went away I clearly remember feeling calm and happy.”
