“Business is growing. To say the least, I have a unique skill set: I understand injuries on a different level. I used cannabis to get off opioids after a very bad accident. I know how to treat injuries, I know cannabis, I know the insurance arena, and I know the industrial arena. I can speak the language and I already have a very high success rate in moving people off opioids, using cannabis, CBD and other methods.”

The Practice
“I have two practices: I work as a pain management consultant to patients with chronic pain. We use a multidisciplinary approach when it comes to treatment. I concentrate on repairing the biomechanics and I recommend CBD’s and MMj as well as other nutritional supplements to provide a better quality of life.

In the insurance world I do the same thing but on a much larger scale. I teach other doctors to see and treat the patient the way I treat. I am the gatekeeper for all products used in this program, which include CBD and other cannabis products. My prevue includes patients include injured workers on disability for 5-plus years with chronic pain and dependency issues. The pool of employees at this time spans 5 states: California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico.”

Doing Your Job Well Entails…
“I’m here to help people; I need to know everything. I understand the mechanics of injuries, and I know how the body works probably better than anybody. I’ve worked in a team doctor atmosphere all my professional life. I got to work with the best doctors in the world, so I know how to stay in my lane and bring in other doctors and professionals to look at the patients findings. This is a team approach to chronic injury management. We are open to anything that works; I don’t care where it comes from or who brings it forward. Cannabis is the base that I use to start the healing process. Empathy is another key. I’ve been hurt, had to learn how to walk again. I understand chronic pain and opioid addiction. I understand the toll it takes on the family. It ruins lives and kills people.”

“First, a multi disciplinary approach with all facets of health is moving forward. The A4M conference includes health professionals that use natural and Pharma products to achieve health. They are leading the way with cannabis in the traditional medical area. This is where we see open acceptance of cannabis, CBD or other natural solutions. This is stimulating communication between all aspects of the healthcare community. Yes, we all wish it was moving faster but, hey, it’s moving.

“Secondly, understanding and using terpene profiles based on DNA are going to be huge. Tracy Ryan, of Cannakids, is way ahead of everybody on this. Her work is revolutionary. One day we will be able to economically customize a ‘medicine’ specifically for a health issue. After all these years, we are moving back to natural solutions to our health problems. Now we have the opportunity to not only use cannabis but also other natural solutions.”

Hobbies
“I ride horses. I love fly-fishing. I’m a little OCD, so I spend time with animals, the forest, and quiet.”

Advice
“Everybody says do what you love. However, the trick is finding what you love—and sometimes it’s right in front of you. I met a business man years ago who said to me, “If your going to do something be the best, second means someone gets hurt.”

The First Time You Consumed Cannabis…
“My dad was a cop and I am a Baby Boomer so I came to the cannabis party late. I only came to this about 4 years ago when my legs and feet were crushed. Doctors were giving me hell about taking pain pills. I couldn’t live that way so my assistant led me to a dispensary and I tried it. My first thought was, What is the big deal? Seriously, the pain was gone, I could walk. I felt very cheated that cannabis was kept from me. I was really disappointed in myself for listening to the propaganda and not trying this alternative. As a chiropractor, we go to the natural first and I strayed from my own philosophy.”
