Metaphorically speaking, that is! Due to cars parking on the course, this year’s run in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park had to be cut down from 4.2 miles to two.

But that didn’t put a damper on participants’ enthusiasm and gave them extra energy to dance to reggae superstar Paco Banton after prizes were awarded. Fans and sponsors, including presenter Weedmaps and Lagunitas Beer, came out to support the 420 Games’ mission of “destigmatizing millions of responsible positive cannabis users through athletic achievement.” Harborside Health Center founder and CEO Steve DeAngelo’s moving keynote speech felt perfectly timed – just last week UFC-fighter Nate Diaz surprised reporters by vaping during his post-fight press conference, while extolling the virtues of CBD. It all brought home the Games’ motto: “Everything in moderation, except sweat!”
